I think the treatment of Basdens character is really poor. It’s mildly addressed in s3, but his character is grieving the loss of his sister and you never really show it.

I know it is said that he is affected by it all, but you never really see it. More time should have been spent with him.

Gervais, in this way, has almost lost the art of developing a character over time.

I have no problem with showing a grieving character to be angry. But I am not sure that shouting at 10 year olds in playgrounds and fathers in cafes looking after their toddlers is the ideal way to present this all.

Tony is a character at first with whom you feel sympathy for, but as the series progressed I became frustrated by his behaviour.

This is opposite to Gervais’ greatest character Brent. Someone with whom you begin by treating as aggravating yet comical, but learn to feel sympathy for.

The hierarchy have to come out on the side of the manager, and be steadfast in their choices. Simply cannot revert to the managerial merry-go-round that existed under the Glazers footballing leadership.

They have made a choice. Be bloody brave. See it through.

I think they honestly exacerbate things at the club. Really believe it’s best to not pay attention to Sky’s coverage. Never balanced or considered.

Listen to the likes of Mitten, Anka, Whitwell and Irving on the Talk of the Devils podcast. Good, measured, analytical perspectives on #MUFC.

I’d actually be a lot more interested to see a follow up show focussing on Dick Hollorann. Behind Pennywise, he was the character that I found most compelling to follow.

The first fight between the pair was so brutal and taxing. Add on top of that the weight cut that Eubank Jr was asked to perform. It’s all just been too much for his body.

This whole saga has washed him completely. Hopefully his advisors discourage any sort of a return to protect his health.
