Recently I attended a talk on AI where the presenter was wearing what were obviously a pair of smart glasses. At the end they took them off with a flourish, & announced they were smart. We were supposed to gasp in amazement at this revelation. They also talk about smart badges. Aren't we past this?

The AI bubble will be useful in seeing a whole lot of electrical capacity built, which can be used for other things, when it is realised we don't need all that power for data centers.

It is now common to provide remote diagnostic services for aircraft, busses, cars, and other equipment. If the customer is concerned about security, they can disable the service.
