There’s some of that, for sure, hence the usual 60 minute sub that always pisses Gnonto off, but he gave him starts at the start of the season and Gnonto played well in those games. I struggle to believe trust has eroded so much that he’s out of contention altogether now with no reason.

What’s that about throwing chaff? Let’s move on with our day. Have a good un. We both hope Gnonto starts vs Villa and bags a hat trick. 👍

You’ve decided Farke doesn’t like Gnonto and is holding him out of the team for that reason. Farke has said it was for fitness reasons. It’s daft of him to say he might be available and then say he wasn’t, but that’s a more likely narrative than Farke hates him so much he’s willing to get sacked.

That said, as I’ve just said to @quietwun.bsky.social, my impression about James being unavailable is wrong. I thought he had been in and out of availability, but not the case and he should therefore be starting ahead of the others. That’s on Farke.

You know what, fair catch on James, I missed that he’s been back in contention for 4 games now. My impression was that he’s been in and out of availability but that’s not right. Hold my hands up and agree, he should have been starting.

I don’t support him. I’m on the fence and would have few arguments if he was sacked, I’m just basing that on reality instead writing my own LUFC fan fiction about a Gnonto conspiracy.

James has had multiple failed returns. You’ve got manage that. He’s explained that Gnonto was a fitness decision. It’s injury management and evidences that those criticising Farke for it are looking for any ammo they can find. All sorts of fair reasons to put the boot in if needed.

Right, but we don’t have Gnonto or Dan James available. It’s Aaronson, Harrison or Nmecha. I’d go Nmecha, but criticising Farke for not playing injured players suggest a bit of a vendetta.

Yep, nicely put.

Totally hear that. But once you do that, and then come back when other options don’t materialise, and then fail to deliver on the pitch, you can expect a lack of tolerance from the fans. I know footballers are all mercenary to some degree, but when you break the illusion there’s fallout.

Agree on that. Should’ve been shipped off in the summer. Suspect PSR made that difficult. A good performance yesterday in a game that played to his strengths. Hope to see a few more (before he gets replaced).

DCL’s ability as a reliable duel winning CF eclipse anything Bamford has ever offered. Evidence so far doesn’t suggest DCL is going to be more reliable in front of goal, but his all round play is miles ahead of Pat.

Another take on this - his lack of ability in attacking situations kills our momentum, but he’s taking up one of 3/4 spots that are relied on to deliver our attacking output. This isn’t an AHIFB situation, BA’s shortcomings could be forgivable if he played DM. Plus, he jumped first chance he got.
