Things can’t change if people keep voting for the same-old options every election.
Alternative options can’t get big enough to be voted for if people don’t get involved in politics in between elections.
We need “busy” people who know how things work to be involved - it can be better.

Unfortunately, activism is generally done by non-profits, which have to be apolitical to retain their tax status.
So the only real solutions require either a) all similar activist organisations to get together in some sort of system where they can coordinate to stay on message…

The people who can and want to work on solutions see the lack of solutions in politics and get involved in organising activism, which does produce solutions, but adds to the noise that makes it harder for parties, and simultaneously removes these people from being able to help parties make choices 🧵

When parties lack the internal resources to solve problems, and can’t work out who to trust externally without getting shredded in the media, solutions are very hard to come by - and those that do get brought up, are very, very unlikely to get implemented well.

Awareness activism is good at achieving #1 really well.
And it does an ok job of getting #2 across the line.
