@teamlabouruk.bsky.social Kier Starmer gives the most right wing, anti immigration press conference, BBC Radio 4 covers it live then instantly wheels out their resident wannabe fascist Richard Tyce for his opinion. I know the #bbc are biased but seriously!?

I think one of the issues with UK politics is the word "reform" it seems like no politician can get away from it when they're interviewed, every department needs "reforming" so no matter which party they're from they're talking about "reform".

This implants the right wing party name into 🧵

Farage and Reform whip up people’s prejudices, then offer to get rid of what they hate.Their power feeds off ignorance and hatred. They make people angrier about the stuff they fear, then promise to fix it. Of course they won’t. But they know who to tell you to blame when they fail.

I once again find myself wondering what this country would look like today if the Green Party had been given even half the media attention that Farage’s various vanity projects got over the last ten years.

You’re telling me that right wing voters that Labour was trying to appeal to voted for a right wing party anyway and left wing voters decided not to vote for Labour because they’re too right wing now? Who could have possibly predicted this.

The only hope I have for today's election results is that now Reform Ltd. have a mayor and councillors, we can experience how utterly useless they are. So by the next elections they'll have no supporters.
This won't happen though...

We have got so used to Farage and Reform that they feel mainstream, but Reform is a far right party & Britain is electing far right MPs and councillors.

Thoroughly disappointed by England being so easily led into the hateful bile of Clacktons Member and his party of ignorance and hate.

The regulated media has played a huge part in this by giving him and his party such a huge platform. 🧵

#offmenu with Jeff Goldbloom is magnificently unhinged. James and Ed must have only managed to get about a dozen words out each during the whole thing.

Update on my first post. The 3 year old has decided we're playing snakes and ladders using a d20 which makes it far more tolerable. #boardgames

My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"?

Biological sex is not binary. www.scientificamerican.com/article/sex-...

The last two episodes of The Forecast from @channel4news.bsky.social have been fantastic. They've perfectly covered the problems with Trump and his trade war.

I know it's not as big of a holiday but I'm surprised there's no Easter songs and a coveted Easter number one spot.

You could probably just replace Christmas with Easter in most of them and bang out a winner in 5 minutes.

After listening to "rare earth" on radio 4, I'm going to predict that deep sea mining companies will see a big surge, probably beginning in the Pacific around the Cook Islands.

Dredging the ocean floor for polymetallic nodules while also obliterating all undersea life.

Someone should probably keep an eye on all those tiny countries that don't have a great deal of wealth. I think there's going to be some billionaires scooping up every asset they have like they're at a buffet soon.
