I don't really fic (or art), but I love poetry and mashing up/connecting existing poems with things I like, and hoo boy are there so many good ones for OFMD, such that I see aspects of the show through that language now

It is okay to feel Bad in the blanket fort. Come on in, we have tea and robes for you. The door's the blue cushion.

At the time I was replying earlier, I wasn't aware of the sock puppet account being terrible to people around this. I'm so sorry that happened, it wasn't okay.

It's okay to have complex feelings, and like y'all said, giving grace and assuming the benefit of the doubt is so important.

Yes! I have fallen afoul of this a bunch (in and out of fandom) and I *always* regret it. Plus, it's kinda basic Golden Rule stuff.

Hanlon's Razor says: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." (I don't like the word stupidity and would rather substitute the word "ignorance" because it's less judgmental) but this pretty much works for everything outside politics.

One more thought - we made no "profit" on Wee Con because extras went to charity (because as far as we were concerned it was a one off) but for future events we could actually roll "profits" into sponsorship or free events (in addition to charity). If people are okay with that. No promises!

Would love to hear suggestions for getting around all of this! I'm excited about AoG's experiment of running everything through Discord, that's a really cool idea.

And there were people who couldn't come who donated their tickets to others instead of asking for refunds. But even online tix we had to plan for, because that affected how we set up the Zoom webinar configuration and what it cost.

Wee Con was Kickstarter-funded which provided the seed money to secure the venues, AV support, and so on. We had an additional donation fund that went to Pay it Forward tix, which covered a number of people in the double digits, both online and offline.
