One of the strange creatures working on Duels of Fortune | Apart of @cosmichatgames.bsky.social

I mostly repost gamedev, cool art and fighting games
Ok after thinking on It the movie does do more than i would suggest, but it mostly happens within the final 30 minutes, and as a result feels a little rushed.
But It is definitely more nuanced than i let on. Maybe would be clearer to me early on on future rewatches

Overall however the second half of the story was very solid, I was a little confused by the ending but the general vibe and feelings were there. just the logic for it fell a little flat for me at times.

Overall a fun take on the classic story, A strong 7.5/10

If that was the case I wouldn't have minded if the movie trimmed down the first half since it's all just leading up to the eventual creation of the creature just in a very elaborate way.
Then could have focused on the core theme a little longer and helped make things feel a little more solid

There were a few moments as well where the story felt a little jumpy or rushed, as if there were entire scenes or segments that were cut or removed. Which is a shame if so.

Story wise sticks to the core idea of humanity and cruelty. With the classic idea that Frankenstein was the real monster and such. However i almost wish it went a little further and explored that a little more, because when it was focusing on it it felt a little surface level

Beyond that the sets and general designs are fantastic, the creature has a cool look by the end of the movie regardless.

Some of the practical effects are also really creepy and unnerving. Great stuff

All of the visuals for this movie are fantastic, very del toro, will say tho that the creature's design is suprisingly tame. There was a part where the creature had a metal ribcage on it with a gothic battery on it and I was a little sad that that didn't last lol.

Finally managed to watch the new Frankenstein movie by Guillermo del Toro.
Definitely a fun take on the movie with some great and gruesome practical effects that takes the core of the original story and makes it much grander.

Very excited to see what the team makes going forward because this game was a blast. Would be fine if they made a direct sequel or even just a completely different story with the same style.

It's a very solid 9/10 for me. I need to try and to see some of the alternate endings

The voice acting is also great, a lot of big names are present but a fair few unknowns are here too, and they do great!

There are a few Youtubers/streamers and at first it felt a little gimmicky but they do a fine job as their characters and it becomes less distracting over time.

The fact that this is another modern super hero story might turn off some folks from the idea but it mostly really is about the characters and the office space they work from more than that, the super hero element is a fun new angle on it and it works very very well

The game also has other mini-games such as QTEs (which can be disabled) or hacking mini-games.

The hacking mini-games are well spaced out and paced, but the QTE's are very sparse, several chapters have 0 QTEs, which is fine since they're not trying to force them but they felt a little underwhelming

The game is mostly focused on the narrative and decision making, but there are some really fun gameplay elements especially with the dispatching part of the game, being a sort of strategy DND style mode.
November 13, 2025 at 4:34 PM
The overall story remains relatively the same regardless of your decisions, major events will always play out, but how they play out seems to change, especially with how the ending plays out.

There were so many decisions in here that i really wanted to stop and think about which is great

The game visually is fantastic, each scene is entirely animated not using the original canned animation style of previous telltale games, really looks like an animated tv show, if not better than most.

A new game to add, this time it's Dispatch!
From a team comprised of old tell-tale employees, Dispatch takes their usual story driven formulae and uses it for a really fun and engaging super hero office drama.

Overall a very well made found footage horror movie, which really spooked me at a few moments and left a strong impression on me. Big fan of this one.

Strong 8.5/10, definitely worth a watch

Only thing i would really nitpick is that I wish there was a little more to it before the finale, feels like it ends a little too quickly.

I can see a world where the ultimate final reveal kinda is left a little too confusing as well, especially if you weren't playing super close attention.

The ending of the movie is harrowing. I was aware of the twist going in, but it still disturbed me once it reach that point. I'm just glad to have a horror movie that explores more nightmarish elements like what was shown here. Makes a nice change from the usual stuff lol

There are also a few blink and you'll miss it type scares, very subtle things that really just keep you on edge and i am a HUGE sucker for those so was very glad to see them. Part of me wishes there were more but I understand why they were rare.

The horror elements are also very well done, only one or two cheap jumpscares, but for the most part there's a lot of build up and atmosphere, as well as mystery.

There are some upsetting scenes, but nothing too graphic. Just very disturbing.
