I've seen startups tend to hire experts who are then kind of just ~around~ when it comes to decision making.

Shifting towards private companies that have a core group answering to no one is bad obviously on grounds of inequality

I'll need to read the rest of this on the tram because the idea of The Founder(s) who are the company vs a company that has founders is definitely something I've experienced as a huge drag weight on some orgs.

do you think of this as a heuristic/correlate or a principle? i think of it as a correlate (99% of these aren't intended to be anything but the equivalent of pink noise tracks) but can't think of other aspects

do i think race contributed to him having less attention? absolutely and also that narratively it is so much harder to convince people on the topic of murder by cops/feds when it involves a person who was firing a gun

paywalls just seem to be unsustainable as a way of operating. i am absolutely ignorant of the financials so maybe it's great and yet seems like a horrible thing for the poors and how in the world could local news pull this off longterm?
