I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others

Humanist | Emergency+Addiction Medicine | Health policy and advocacy | Health technology and innovation | Views my own (he/him)

Can’t wait to listen!

Exactly! And that’s infuriating! Also, saying “no Ob/Gyn with morals should practice in an anti-woman / pro-forced birth state” or whatever. Just infuriating and actually misogynistic by suggesting giving up on some women. That makes me actually angrier.

The dilemma that I see constantly from the left is blaming doctors for not doing more - "you swore an oath" and the like - and not blaming the propagandists and lawmakers who causes this to become a legal impossibility rather than simply clinical prudence.

Oh, for sure. All the more reason I agree with you.

I just think "normal people" - whatever that means - don't actually understand this at all and have been propagandized to death. Even when you explain, they still won't believe it - until people actually start dying, unfortunately.

No License for Disinformation didn’t die a peaceful death it was killed. This small group of doctors were actively caring for patients being killed by vaccine lies.

The system picked the liars.

Good Luck Fighting Disinformation
A group that formed during the pandemic to counter medical lies found that every lever it pulled on failed to produce the results it was hoping for.

Agree, we have the data and have had the opportunity.

Those who understand this issue or are involved in health care or health policy certainly did.

But the average person who has been convinced by decades of pro-forced birth propaganda simply do not or will not believe until they see it happen.

Lollll

By deflecting away from a response to my question, you’re admitting that you don’t know the answers, you don’t know the facts here.

I’m not condoning negligence. I’m suggesting that we have targets of our ire that don’t require nuance to understand. Blame them.
November 20, 2025 at 4:36 PM
…deflect blame onto the doctors out of misguided but righteous anger, rather than blaming those who pushed propaganda for years with the singular goal of causing harm to women specifically.
November 20, 2025 at 4:33 PM
I want you to understand what is actually problematic about blaming the physicians who stayed, who are doing their best in a system designed to cause harm. By blaming those providing care, you’re carrying water for pro-forced birthers. That’s what they want you to do..
November 20, 2025 at 4:33 PM
You're correct to be angry and correct that no one deserves neglect.

And you’re correct that you’re entitled to feel whatever way you want and do whatever you want about it - but the fact that you’re allowed doesn’t make it correct. These are different.
