I mostly post about my journey becoming a semi-serious Disney Lorcana player. Previously played Modern/Legacy MTG
Been thinking about these games and realized I didn't discuss my misplays. Mostly, I need to make sure I'm sequencing things appropriately. Too many times I played card draw before activating Cauldron, and I think I could have dug more efficiently if I sequenced correctly. Still room to improve!

The idea with eternal formats is that a deck can mostly stay the same, as the power level is expected to be higher than a rotating format. This means it takes a special card to replace something already in a deck. From here, we just keep an eye out for more efficient cards doing what we already do.

Overall, I'm not sure I'll change this list before the Whole New World Infinity event that happens in two weeks. Something would have to really come out of nowhere to replace a Demona, and I think the numbers I've landed on are right where they need to be. This is why I love eternal formats though..

I could replace a big Elsa with the 4th Hades, but I think only having one big Elsa is wrong. I've seen her just enough in the past two Infinity events to believe you need her at times, but haven't seen her so much that there are too many. Cutting one would make me worry about not seeing her enough.

I wish one Demona could be a 4th Hades, as I think he is the best overall card in the deck. Being at 12 uninkables right now seems like the sweet spot though, and I'm not willing to budge on that yet. I've considered the new 5-drop Hades, but I think Demona's ability to exert everything is better.

1-drop on T4 was another Rafiki, so T5 saw me double challenge the opp only 4+ drop with the Rafikis, play Spooky sight to wipe the rest of their board and simply quest for a turn with Bruno before dropping ink+Cauldron+small Elsa T6 to keep their board clear and start the Bruno engine.
November 29, 2025 at 11:52 PM
Remember, you can win without the Bruno engine. You have to prioritize controlling the board. Rd 3 found me ramping on T2 while holding Bruno and Cauldron, but I didn't play Bruno until my actual T4, as Into the Unknown+Rafiki was better on T3. This allowed me to Bruno+1-drop T4 to stay in control.

After playing your first Spooky Sight, prioritize finding high cost cards like Elsa (both), Demona, and Hades. Hades is likely the most important, as he continues the removal train. Elsas are next as they can act as removal or tempo. Demona is better after you've rebuilt, or if you are low on cards.

If you're looking for a T5-6 Spooky Sight, I suggest you challenge to slow the opp down. This also encourages them to play into it more, as you look like you are struggling to keep their side under control. An early Bruno may change this, as you can prioritize digging for Spooky Sight with Bruno.

You want to prioritize Sail as your T2 ramp if possible, as you can also play a Rafiki/Develop on the same turn after your second ink. Tipo may be slightly better against aggro if you have T3 Merlin, and it lets you get rid of uninkable high costs early.
November 29, 2025 at 11:52 PM
Rafiki is the best T1 start imo, as he can gain a little lore in the early turns if the opp is on a slower deck. That said, if the opp is on a midrange list and they don't have a T1 play, Develop can help you smooth out the early turns to make sure you are ready for what they have.
November 29, 2025 at 11:52 PM
Following this ideal line, you've set up Rafiki to act as early game removal, but the combo engine is running by T4 to start drawing cards that you need to stay ahead while also winning you the game. You can't always just ignore your opp and try to win though. That's where control lines come in...

Feeling fantastic about the new approach, so I'm going to walk through the thought process of how to play the deck. Your turns need to sequence a little differently depending on what your opp is on, but the ideal start looks like this:
T1 - Rafiki
T2 - Ramp
T3 - Bruno
T4 - Cauldron+removal

Overall, I'm excited to keep grinding this archetype out over the season, as I truly believe it has the tools available to take on whatever gameplan is thrown at it.

I have no current notes on this list. While the meta is still feeling new, I think it has a great balance of things to handle every major deck. There were definitely misplays to be seen, as Hades tucked at least 4 characters across the 3 rounds and I'm not sure that's ever the correct answer.
November 23, 2025 at 2:01 AM
Every game felt like there were no questions on what to do, as long as I was considering my opp's deck and what my gameplan should be. Having clear cards to ink vs. play in each matchup was, imo, what made it so easy to not drop a game while having never played a match prior with this list.

I followed Frank Karsten's work some when I played MtG, but never really tried any of his lists. He played a lot of formats that were competitively relevant while I focused on older formats that didn't have many large events. I knew he used a ton of math theory for his lists, but now I'm a believer.

Next week is a Core Constructed swiss tourney, so I'll be side stepping to a different list for next week and trying to understand the Core meta game before next Saturday. Wish me luck!

The other card I had issues with was Demona. She was originally my inkable replacement for Big Elsa, but what I became concerned with was letting my op draw 3, particularly in Rd 1. That being said, she was great in Rd2 between her card draw and questing, so I'll keep testing her out for now.
November 15, 2025 at 10:51 PM
My initial thought is to replace it with two Big Elsa. It keeps the uninkable count the same and adds a little more wincon past Bruno that still has utility. But, if I do this, is it worth it to keep the build in the early game the same (Rafiki, Mim, Merlin)? Maybe? That will take some testing...
November 15, 2025 at 10:51 PM
The first card was Can't Hold It Back Anymore. I'm trying so hard to make this card work, as it being a song seems like a huge upside. The problem is that I just don't have characters to deal damage in a way that it stays on the board, so I'm often holding this with no damage on board.
November 15, 2025 at 10:51 PM
So, are there any changes that need made? Sure, but I'm not entirely sure what yet. I do have to remember that very few times will I find myself in a place where I am able to control the game less than my op, so being the aggressor should not be a priority. There were two cards that caused issues.
