If you work on higher education, watch this documentary and re-evaluate your assessment strategy.
so brilliant in this documentary: the point that education is supposed to create a level playing field which selects for the brightest minds & hardest workers.

many of those minds are, by this evidence, in Kenya. but their work bolstering false self-images of North American and European people.
this documentary about people in Kenya who write essays for UK and US students is jaw-dropping

there’s a part where someone in the US needs an essay for her course. she goes online to sell nudes to get the money to pay the essay-writer in Kenya to write it for her

But the existing petrol stations there are fine… 🤔
Officers wrote “Even if the shortage of ultra-rapid EV infrastructure in the district were acute, Officers consider the benefits of low carbon development and renewable energy generation would be offset by the harm resulting from poor design and not demonstrating a 10% biodiversity net gain.”

Hear hear! And Oxford UK based folk do come along next Tuesday 15 July at 1830 to hear all about these arguments from Emily M Bender @ Blavatnik School of Government (message me for details)
“‘Al’ is a marketing term. It doesn't refer to a coherent set of technologies. Instead, the phrase …is deployed when the people building or selling a particular set of technologies will profit from getting others to believe that their tech is similar to humans”
Excellent & uncompromising.
