Irish 🇮🇪, hoomum to 2 senior rescue puppers and live-in staff to 2 outrageously entitled cats. Never yet met an animal that I didn't like.

Having the craic at Áras an Uachtaráin
There are plenty of presidents around the world, I'm just delighted we have our Uachtarán agus a bhean chéile, Saidhbhín. #Ireland

This newspaper would like to offer our sincerest apologies to Mr. McEldroon, his lovely wife Peggy, and their beautiful children, Michael and Sally. We recently visited them at their home, located at 18 Maplewood Lane, to express our regrets personally.

Cork hurlers have certainly 'shown up' today. A couple of tough decisions and wides, but Barrett in particular has been brill. The breeze and two class goalkeepers might have the final say. Two best sides in the country on display and nothing between 'em!

Wishing all students who begin their exams today, the very best of luck from us all at Cork Safety Alerts. Remember, exam results do not define you as a person and they certainly don't define the rest of your life. You can only do your best, and that’s all that matters! 🤞

Some altruistic sibling tenderness from earlier today, as the 2025B Red Fox Vulpes vulpes vixen cub groomed her sister, the 2025A vixen. Their positions of 3rd and 4th in the cubs' social hierarchy seem to be roughly equal. Usually subordinates groom the more dominant animals in the family group.

This year's litter of Red Fox Vulpes vulpes cubs is now 100 days old. The photo, of the 2025A vixen cub from this morning, shows her adult lower incisors pushing out (6) milk teeth. 4 new teeth are already through. She may have swallowed the two lost baby teeth!

The 2025B Red Fox Vulpes vulpes vixen cub now has 4 new lower incisors. She was also displaying the vulpine equivalent of a QR code, a unique colour pattern on the gum that can only be seen when the mouth is open (as when yawning) and when the tongue has been rolled up! Her ear is distinctive too.

Completing the line up of cubs, a portrait of the 2025D Red Fox Vulpes vulpes vixen cub from this morning, the one with the greatest contrast between blonde fur and chocolate-brown eye-colour. She also has the most prominent white tip to her tail amongst this family - like her dad's, in fact.

There wasn't much between them. #Waterford had us rattled for much of the first half, but job done and #Cork advance to a Munster Final. #hurling #munsterchampionship

The Irish term for a ladybird is Bóín Dé, pronounced Bow-een Day, which literally translates as God's little cow.
A ladybug takes a brief pause from the aphid hunt on a fresh spring leaf.
