Watched the new Frankenstein. Great imagery. Interesting take on an old story, but I can't shake the golden hot pants of the Monster and how that is so similar to Rocky from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I love chillequilles. It is the quintessential Mexican breakfast and it's really pretty easy to throw together with whatever veggies and protein you have on hand.
The key ingredients are tortilla chips and salsa. I've tried both red and green and prefer the extra tartness of the green salsa.

Chinese stuffed peppers.. Fish and shrimp and lots of unami in the sauce and marinade. It goes together pretty quick. Probably 30-35 min from start to eating

Finished this fireplace mantel this weekend. Will install it next week at the clients house that is in the middle of a remodel.
Sapele was the primary wood with the wenge knots on the corners.
I love how Sapele shimmers.

Our annual BLT party was last night. It all started over 10 years ago when we started growing heirloom tomatoes and they were soooo good I had to share them with friends. A BLT with two tomato slices with the bacon and lettuce in the middle is the way to go.

Pronto pup in Rockaway, a small town on the Oregon Coast, has the best corn dogs I've ever tasted. Hand dipped right after you order them and the double fried French fries, and I'm in heaven. I like the jalapeno cheddar. Yumm

I made a Viking shield
A friend of mine who is a blacksmith on the East Coast did the shield boss.
The blue words were translated into old Norse then the translated into younger futhark which is the color below.

So at Nordic Northwest, where we have a Thomas Dambo Troll, we have a donation box that we put out every morning and bring in every day at 5pm. It generates about $20-30 a day. For over a year, it's been very consistent.
Then it was stolen and the director asked if I could make something.

Went out on a limb and took a mosaic class today. Quite fun but man my back was sore from all the bending over.

One of things I will never grow tired of while on the beach here in Baja is watching the mobus rays doing their jumps out of water, flipping and twisting and then hitting the water with a BAM. If you get a group of them, the echos kind of remind me of a framing crew hammering away.
