Everything we've made will break, buildings and streets will crumble, and cities will be abandoned. But the CO₂ we emit into the atmosphere will persist for centuries, and the climatic impacts will last longer than human civilization has existed. This is our legacy for the future.

One thing I wrote about here is how technology has made buses *way* more convenient while techno-futurists were obsessed with flying taxis and self-driving cars.

this is about dishwasher pods but it applies to so many things which are so much shittier yet ✨shinier✨
I, for one, find it infuriating (and somewhat infantilizing) that all the big name brands out there don't think I am smart enough to work out what's best for myself.

Honestly what I'm most angry about is how they've hoodwinked everyone into assuming this new reality is better.

Only go as fast as you can safely stop in an emergency is the most basic driving rule there is.

If a bunch of kids step in front of your 2 tonne car and you can’t stop before hitting them then you’re e going too fast for current conditions.

Some remedial driving lessons might be in order.
