I’m not even going to get into the woeful mishandling of racism and colonialism in his books.
At the end of the day the issues is economics.

Sanderson fans who claim “he is trying to change the church from the inside” are naively deluding themselves. His PERSONAL progressive stance is afforded to him because he is a famous straight rich white man, an active member who still publicly supports the church.
