"Material impact on state's finances." Read: "we want to keep taxing you, but don't expect anything in return." Disappointing, yet not surprising.
As expected, the Taiwan Ministry of the Interior has rejected the Join platform petition for better access to dual nationality. Granting dual nationality to permanent residents would have a "material [adverse] impact on the state's financies, the cost of social welfare, and national security."
