This is code for "our prices are way above actual value." The kind of shop that depends on you feeling obligated to buy something when you walk in and will talk you into it like a used car dealer. A good shop will always be confident enough to tell prices over the phone.
The quickest way for you to lose any potential business from me is "not discussing pricing over the phone". Dude we're traveling over a 1000 miles and just wanna know if its worth going off our path and taking a look at the shit in your store. Dude wouldn't even give me a range. Bad business.

I know a lot of parents come into my toy shop and have no idea what things are cause they're shopping for the kids, I don't mock anyone for lack of knowledge. But it is kind of adorable when a dad holds something up asking "is this a Dragon Ball?" and it's a Digimon they're holding.
