Looking to talk about LFC, AEW and MCU.
I made a post about this, we had a tough start to this season. Our next 11 games are:

Nottingham Forest 19th
PSV
West Ham 18th
Sunderland 4th
Leeds 16th
Inter Milan
Brighton 11th
Tottenhan 5th
Wolves 20th
Leeds 16th
Fulham 15th

We face most of the bottom half teams now.

It is interesting to point out, after eleven games, #LFC have faced the teams in:

1st (Arsenal)
2nd (Man City)
3rd (Chelsea)
6th (Aston Villa)
7th (Man United)
9th (Bournemouth)
10th (Crystal Palace)
12th (Brentford)
13th (Everton)
14th (Newcastle)
17th (Burnley)

Seven of the top ten teams so far.
Of Liverpool’s next 8 league games, 5 are at Anfield. As Arne said yesterday, the PL table after 19 games will be a better indication/ reflection of where this Liverpool team is relative to its rivals and its ambitions.

I think there is an argument to be made that Alexander Isak is going to become our Mohamed Salah, Florian Wirtz is going to become our Roberto Firmino and someone like Antoine Semenyo will become our Sadio Mane.

It's just they will all play different positions and we will see a different style too.

Games for Bournemouth:

Left Winger - 26
Centre Forward - 4
Right Winger - 38
November 19, 2025 at 2:50 PM
Predominantly? He's a centre forward, though generally he's a winger and it's basically split 50/50 which side he plays.

The way I see our attack is a front three of:

Wirtz - Isak - Salah

Though each player will have the freedom to drift anyway they can find space. Antoine Semenyo can replace Mo.

Isak and Salah become the top goal scorers, being provided assists from Kerkez, Wirtz and Frimpong.

Szoboszlai, Gravenberch and Mac Allister is the engine room, supported by Wirtz dropping deeper.

Kerkez and Frimpong provide width and look for space but always aim to feed it back into the middle.

Wirtz Isak Salah
Mac Allister Gravenberch Szoboszlai
Kerkez Van Dijk Konate Frimpong
Alisson

Is what I would like to see us get to, eventually.

Kerkez and Frimpong bomb forward, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai sit deeper to cover the counter. Wirtz goes central and deeper, playing like a Firmino role.

I think playing three at the back right now won't work.

Gomez - Van Dijk - Konate

is a good back three but we have no first team centre backs to rotate with them. Maybe we can play it after January, if we decide to sign two centre backs. Until then though, we need to get the best out of everyone.
November 16, 2025 at 8:59 AM
The podcast I was referencing suggested Ryan Gravenberch could work there if we brought it in now. I don't think that would work and we would need at least two new centre backs to make it work.

Ideally, I want us to go back to the way the 4-3-3 worked under Jurgen Klopp but with Wirtz as Firmino.

The 3-4-1-2 has 3 centre backs to win the ball back and to find the 4 players in front of them, the 4 players are meant to pick up the second balls.

Your 4-1-4-1 suggests 2 CBs win the ball back to find a RB, LB and DM. Which is 1 less player to win the long ball and 1 less to win the second ball.
November 15, 2025 at 7:33 PM
This formation will have seven players sitting back in deeper positions, most likely in our own half, in order to win the ball back, keep the ball, control the game and then build our attack.

What I misunderstood is you have four players in a RW/CAM/LW role but you want them playing as CM/DM still.
November 15, 2025 at 12:09 PM
To clarify, what I meant by the 4-1-4-1 not working but the 3-4-1-2 could work is based on those formations being the average position the players are in.

When the opposition plays a long ball, the three centre backs are aiming to win that ball and knock it down to the four players ahead of them.

Have a good night, mate.
November 14, 2025 at 9:32 PM
I thought we brought in Arne Slot because of how similar he was to Jurgen Klopp?

The key differences is Klopp likes to counter down the wings, whilst Slot likes to control through the middle.

So Kerkez and Frimpong are not the stars like Robbo and Trent, they are there to make Wirtz the star now.
November 14, 2025 at 9:32 PM
I am talking about a back three, mate.

RCB: Konate/Leoni
CB: Van Dijk/Upamecano
LCB: Guehi/Gomez

Buying quality players, with experience, at a lower price now. To save our money and buy better quality players in the summer.

We're not really disagreeing on Upamecano, he's a squad depth player now.
November 14, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Wirtz Isak Salah
Macca Grav Dom
Kerkez Virgil Ibou Frimpong
Ali

Isak drifts left, Salah cuts in. Wirtz cuts in but deeper. Frimpong and Kerkez provide width. A midfield three sit back and protect the counter attack.

Attack:
Isak Salah
Kerkez Wirtz Frimpong

Defence:
Macca Grav Dom
Virgil Ibou
Ali
November 14, 2025 at 8:51 PM
I agree and my solution for that is Wirtz and Frimpong.

Jurgen Klopp's title winning team was:

Mane Firmino Salah
Gini Fabinho Hendo
Robbo Virgil Matip Trent
Alisson

Firmino dropped deeper, our wing backs bombed forward and our midfield three sat back to cover the wing backs. We can do this now.
November 14, 2025 at 8:51 PM
I am talking about us playing three at the back, when we currently have three centre backs. Leoni is out for the season.

I know our scouts will look for better players but a Bundesliga winning centre back and the best English centre back are available with one year left on their contracts.
November 14, 2025 at 8:29 PM
If the big change is that instead of Diaz running and Trent passing, we have Wirtz passing and Frimpong running, I think we could make it work.
November 14, 2025 at 8:22 PM
I think we can though.

Florian Wirtz can be our Luis Diaz from last season, playing in the front three but dropping deeper to press when needed, find space, create chances and go for goals and assists.

Frimpong and Bradley can't invert and pass like Trent but they can sit back more to start with.
November 14, 2025 at 8:22 PM
Alessandro Bastoni is not going to join us this January, mate. I don't think it's possible until Virgil Van Dijk is leaving. Even then it's just a dream right now.

What I am saying is, if we want to play a back three, we should buy Guehi and Upamecano because their contracts are running down now.
