My mom joined the Goodspeed production crew just after Harrigan 'n Hart. Some of my favorite stories that she shares are from her time there. I really enjoyed hearing Mark talk a bit about his run.
As a longtime fan of @marcmaron.bsky.social, my conversation with him was detailed, comprehensive & a pleasure from start to finish, even though he spells his name with a "C" not a "K".

Today I talk @markhamillofficial.bsky.social on the show. Soap opera acting, Letterman, Luke, the Joker, The Long Walk. Great talk! Listen up! wtfpod.com

The year is 1700. A time traveler visits and shows you the appliances of 2025.

Which appliance blows your mind the most?

It's the dehumidifier. Turn it on and a few hours later you have a gallon of water.

I won tickets to Ozzfest in 2003 from Radio 104. When I picked them up, the staff realized that giving lawn tickets to a 13-year-old was a terrible idea and they gave me VIP tickets instead.

That night is a core memory. #RIPOzzy

I wish everyone could see behind the scenes at NPR today. It's inspiring to see people get back up and do their jobs, just as they do every day. Journalism is important work and it will continue.

Hello just wanted to say:

Public media is a useful public good. It is a source of great local news at a time when local news is being decimated. Also, in my 10 years in public media, I can say people who work here do it because they believe in the mission of informing people.

Just noting.

ANALYSIS: There is a LOT of stuff in the media right now about the Massive Ordinance Penetrator-- the American bunker-buster that might get used on Iran's deeply buried site at Fordow.

Can it hit Fordow? I'm not sure.

Here's why (WITH MATH). 🧵

There has been a void in the public discourse for the last six months. But I'm so thankful that @petridishes.bsky.social is comfortably easing her way back into 2025. www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/...

This cut is going to hurt all of public media. But it is going to devastate, if not eliminate the stations that cover rural America. There are communities where public media is the only thing they can access with just a radio or TV antennae.

During foster parent training, we were told that when filling out paperwork, Parent 1 should be the mom (for heterosexual couples).

Even the instructor told us that was ridiculous, but she said that's what the state prefers.

I've recently started getting push notifications for the Staples subreddit. It is mostly employees encouraging others to quit before the company goes under.

It's remarkable that Staples still exists in the first place.

One way to describe the Yankees’ power surge in the Bronx on Saturday? Historic.

New York broke a franchise record with nine total home runs in a big win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

This is one of the rare cases where the headline UNDERPLAYS the insanity of what actually happened.

Like to be clear, the editor-in-chief of the Atlantic spent most of the article thinking this was an AI-driven scam.

An absolute must read.
