BARNSLEY LIVE! Hugely well-attended FREE annual live music event in the town. Last month, it happened and the organisers paired up with Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity to raise funds. It raised less than £4000 - a few pence per attendee. So we're having a push for donations!

Today we bid farewell to The Mighty ERIC. First built for me by a friend circa 1998, I saw how easy it was and the hardware has had rolling DIY updates up to about 2017. It ran various flavours of Windows and GNU/Linux over the years but, having retired from gaming years ago, it hasn't been booted..

Well, it's an #FACup weekend and #BarnsleyFC are no longer involved. Our league match is OFF due to a frozen pitch.

Shaddap You Face by Joe Dolce Music Theatre. In my defence, I was 8 at the time and as a bonus, I inadvertently helped keep the pompous twaddle of Ultravox's "Vienna" off the top of the UK singles chart.

A less expected find amongst the vinyl in my mother's attic but, since half my friends were in the First Direct arena in Leeds watching this lot on Friday, I thought I'd give it a spin.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I might.

Today I have mostly been enjoying the lyrical musings of Louisa Roach. Not my usual bag but a great (if short) album and not-so-guilty pleasure #shedrewthegun #howl

Reminds me of my first proper system that my uncle gave me. He emigrated to the Canary Islands when I was 14. Apart from free holiday accommodation for a good few years I got his JVC JL-A15 turntable and JR-S100 tuner amp. I begged a pair of Wharfedale Linton 2 speakers from somewhere. Happy times!

Got me a turntable and I'm working through the vinyl collection from my youth that I recently found in my mum's loft. It's been there since my last turntable got nicked in a 1995 burglary but seems to have survived unscathed. This won't win any awards for cover art but oh, the tunes! #themission
