these self-id'ed transsexuals are arguing that they are also a minority of a minority, and if their needs are not understood as distinct, such needs can be ignored. this has already impacted their lives. ffs i lived through an HRT ban! this isnt a hypothetical!

no one is saying trans people who dont need HRT are the ones responsible for this. these people are saying that their needs in particular are not the exact same, much like how julia serano (mind you, not a fan of mine) argued that transmisogyny is a unique bigotry against a minority of a minority.

i do not think they can be faulted for this. their specific human rights have been taken away, in part by conflating their needs with a larger group that doesnt share the same specific needs, by using that umbrella group as shield to justify an assault a smaller demographic under the same umbrella.

I think people are broadly tired of endless arguments about validity and want to just say “We need HRT, let’s focus on that.” Regardless of what this op might say or such.

I think trans people exist as human beings not as self declarations of ontological nature. "I identify as a roflcopter" is dehumanization not the ultimate expression of freedom. You are both denying reality to transness and imposing your own reading of reality on eg. identifying passing with cisness

I do not think that is true. I think you are collapsing down these words that are required to articulate our social relations into an inventory for self expression. It is alienating to call it identifying as cis because someone passes. You're conflating rights, self expression, and social intentions
