In the end, the strategy matters. Labour cannot allow Reform in because they ignore people who want borders to be controlled.

As an ethnic minority immigrant myself, I don't like it but I get what Mahmoud is doing. I hope it defuses the protest vote,

Clearly not you. Bye

Not at all. I'm a professional middle class father and I think he is exceptionally credible.

As a political and policy move this is a good thing but it comes with dangers.

The uncertainly created for genuine refugees is bad. Really bad.

It all depends on what is enforced. But uncertainty has a cost and can push people into the shadow economy.

But the framing is clearly also intended to sound harsh, and this is a very fine line.

I can see why she did this, it reduces the likelihood of a protest vote like Brexit which leads to a reform far right government.

The danger is it moves the Overton window.

2. Allowed and encouraged to work and contribute
3. Quicker enforcement of returns
4. Stops reform

Hang on a minute. The headline is sensationalist.

1. There will be a re-opening of legal routes.
2. The ECHR is implemented into countries legal frameworks, so Parliament can adjust it as long as it does not break international law.

Countries need to maintain control over their own borders.

Gatwick and Heathrow facilitate massive releases of CO2, while Solar Farms reduce CO2 emissions by displacing fossil fuels.

I have to say, while the UK's safety net has been degraded through austerity over the last 14 years, it's still hugely better than that in the USA.

The problem with career politicians is that they are petrified of losing their jobs.
