Māori, Pākehā, pāpā. Currently 'in between'. A recently former journalist, producer, looking for new mahi 😉.
Into sports, kapa haka, politics mainly.
Opinions are my own, radiradirah the usual caveats apply.
Because Seymour would walk away in a huff and the Nats haven't yet put the final feathers on their nest.

I don't think Seymour's reaction is as much a factor in this as the government MPs personal financial situation. Agreeing to pass this bill ensured they could make changes to other legislation that improved their, their families and friends private sector investments using taxpayers $$$$

I've never wanted a bill drawn from the tin more than this one purely for the wide reaching election ramifications. Well played Duncan webb.

Not to mention ACT would have Nats over a barrell in the negotiation.
Nats will have to follow through with repealing at the risk of not forming a government with ACT, or break their promise to the voters before even being sworn in - likely at the expense of agreeing to WORSE legislation.

There is a chance Waiariki could be the ONLY seat they keep..... egos!

Tai Tokerau is obviously no chance of returning a TPM MP. Tai Tonga is up the air, ditto Tāmaki Makauru. I'm hearing whispers Tai Hauāuru, outside of Debbie's iwi, aren't happy with the situation. Hauraki-Waikato I feel is waiting for Hana. And they've never won Ikaroa-Rawhiti.

It would be the biggest case of political self-destruction ever seen, and for what? Two fully grown parents fighting their grown childrens battles?
November 25, 2025 at 5:30 AM
Could it be that these type of people don't want a fair tax system or user pays. They want pure unadulterated profits without expenses. The great unwashed can pay for all that claptrap

Usually would've scrolled on by, but came here to find this. Glad to see some culture still exists.

I don't necessarily like it either tbh, but just find it disingenuous of the media to keep framing the possible election outcomes as a simple 3 v 3, as if they have never heard of Winston Peters before 🤣🤣🤣. He doesn't go to sit in opposition.
November 13, 2025 at 9:35 PM
Not necessarily - a "G'day, Deputy Prime Minister Peters" phone call from Prime Minister-Elect McAnulty will help get a Lab/NZ1st/Greens deal across the line.

This wide-ranging inquiry should also be allowed to report on any complaints made against high-profile people that were dismissed, not investigated or actively covered up by senior officers. It is but one way to try and gain trust again with the public.
November 12, 2025 at 9:24 PM
questions are being raised of who knew and when did they know? The public need to know beyond all doubt that the current leadership are squeaky clean, and not simply scapegoating former leaders to cover ongoing alleged corruption and disgusting behaviour?
November 12, 2025 at 9:24 PM
A further follow-up question for Commissioner Chambers and/or Minister - will you order a wide-ranging, no limit to scope inquiry into the NZ Police, that includes your own conduct as a means of (re?)building trust in public?

Pakiaka - reo māori style of Bananagrams. It's ace as, gets the brain thinking about how to use letters. if you allow the use of papakupu it helps grow the vocab.

No, he's eliminating the competition...

On current events, I would not be surprised if the answer to both questions is "a lot!"
