We could start with looking at the Oregon school calendar in general, which is one of the shortest in the nation. This goes back to Measures 5 and 50 in the 90s. We need to fix our statewide tax system, and get our school year in line with other states. www.kgw.com/article/news...
Oregon has one of shortest school years, lowest graduation rates in U.S.
Washington students go to school the equivalent of an entire school year longer than Oregon kids, due to Oregon's shorter school years. What does that mean for graduation rates?

I hope all these clowns are OK with their elderly parents and grandparents moving in with them. Meemaw and her oxygen tank are going to be in their living rooms (and mine) soon.

According to this article, it's not just about their Senate or House seats. They're afraid for their physical safety. What if Trump published their home addresses, kids' schools, spouse's workplaces online, and a horde of rabid Trump supporters hunted them down? www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Eric Swalwell says threats to them and their families are stopping GOP officials from criticizing president

I keep thinking about this town hall realized none of these members of Congress were hired for this job. They’re all politicians and negotiators. We have a whole lot of Neville Chamberlains but we need at least one Winston Churchill.

I was there. Just leaving. I’m still disappointed… Wyden has lots of energy but he’s a master tap dancer around the parts of questions he doesn’t want to answer. I still feel like Democrats are bringing Robert’s Rules of Order to a gunfight. I still don’t understand what to DO.

If he was really worried about fitness and obesity among children, he’d be looking at the vast number of neighborhoods with no sidewalks, bike lanes, or crosswalks, where kids can’t go anywhere unless they’re in a car.

Trust me, I know. Lots of people F-ed around but the whole damn world has to find out.

I apologize with every fiber of my being. Along with being terrifying, it’s embarrassing. A whole lot of us didn’t vote for this and are doing everything we can to stop it.

And as of just now, there is NO MENTION AT ALL on the Fox News website of the federal funding stoppage. For people who use Fox News as their primary news source, they cannot see this. It doesn't exist for them. Yet.

News Flash: there is NOTHING on Fox News about this issue. For people who use this as their primary news source, the government grant and funding stoppage does not exist.

A friend who is a public works director for a small suburban city in Oregon said 2/3 to 3/4 of his active projects are stalled. Things like repairs to the local water system, bridges, etc. Federal counterparts have no idea what is happening or how long it will last.
