Like the majority of academic research carried out on this topic this paper was authored by evangelical proponents of LTNs so its accuracy and objectivity are deeply questionable.

I don’t believe LTNs reduce car use, or discourage it.

They just shift traffic from one place to another, dumping it onto larger residential roads, in front of someone else’s house.

The benefits they offer to some are built on the suffering of many others - they exacerbate social inequalities.

I’m not absolutist either and strongly believe the residents of each ward should be able to shape what happens in their own area, which is what has been lacking up until now.

He’s a very effective councillor, works incredibly hard and has earned the respect of Temple Cowley where he has held onto his @oxfordcitycouncil.bsky.social seat for more than 20 years.

You may well be pleasantly surprised.

Saj is a great councillor and will work really hard for Cowley residents.

We finally have someone who will represent our views accurately at County Hall.

Everyone is entitled to their view and I understand why some people like them, but the results demonstrate that most people in Cowley, Rose Hill and Littlemore agree with me.
May 2, 2025 at 7:49 PM
And just to underline my point, David Henwood of @ind-ox-alliance.bsky.social has just taken Rose Hill & Littlemore for the exact same reason - the residents hate LTNs.

Thanks, we will! 👍

Brilliant news - congratulations to David Henwood and @ind-ox-alliance.bsky.social 👏

The LTNs are one of the key reasons Saj won in Cowley - they have caused total misery in the local community and a myriad of problems.

We absolutely hate them - they just divert everyone else’s traffic onto our roads.

This is a fantastic result for Cowley! 👏
May 2, 2025 at 2:27 PM
How many years had Labour held Cowley for prior to today @oxfordclarion.bsky.social ?
May 2, 2025 at 2:08 PM
Yes! Get in there Saj! 👏

I guess you don’t get your post from the Oxford East Delivery Office.

You’re brave Nick, I wouldn’t trust my vote to the Oxford branch of Royal Mail!

I bet they always invite their friends in Oxford City Council along Danny, especially if they’re coming on two wheels.
April 29, 2025 at 10:23 PM
I think Littlemore residents and @ind-ox-alliance.bsky.social trust Royal Mail employees and ODS staff - it’s @oxfordshirecc.bsky.social that are the problem.
