Nasty damage from hail in SE Queensland yesterday. People were injured, and the hail smashed solar panels, windows, cars etc. Some people remain without power. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11...

I'm increasingly tired of seeing ChatGPT writing style everywhere. It sticks out, especially high en-dash usage, poor similes, and supposed-to-be-clever "that's not just A, it's B" statements. Wikipedia has a nice list of AI "tells": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiped...

Great new research from Killian Brennan and Lena Wilhelm shows that hailstorms in Europe are influenced by dust from the Sahara. Crucial to gain this kind of microphysical understanding for hailstorms. acp.copernicus.org/articles/25/...

The Australian Climate Service's National Climate Risk Assessment is an excellent document - it gives a comprehensive and robust assessment of the state of knowledge on climate risks now and for the future. It makes for sobering reading. 1/4
