I do not think it is a good idea for me to take these.

And no one complaining seems to have a legitimate answer for why it shouldnt have changed other than the obligation Nani has (apparently as a woman) to give up her own future, to raise Lilo alone.

The original glosses over a little, as all of these plots do, the life the older sibling needs to give up. If her parents lived, she would be away at college anyway. With the parents raising her little sister.
This leaves the world in about the same place. With the neighbour filling in.

And Nani who is barely college aged, isn't giving up all of HER future to be a mother unexpectedly.

She hasn't remotely abandoned her sister, and clearly sees her all the time. Talks to her more often again.

I think it's a much more realistic ending, and a happier one.

In the original, the miracle happens, and Nani keeps Lilo and they all live together.
In the live action remake, Nani does lose guardianship of Lilo and goes off to college.

And it feels fine.
The movie made it clear earlier on the neighbours are super close. "We're ohana too".

If no health risks anymore, everyone could be cool again.
