Fair. But 3000? Also consider how many of us are academics. I could tell you stories, but you've probably heard them a dozen times over from others. But I'll bet the amount of anti-AI posts goes up around final exam time, or when papers are due.

Obviously you’re not following the right people.

You’re giving HBO way too much credit.

I've been taking students to Italy for years. They always want to see the Trevi fountain. As do all the tourists. A two euro fee with accomplish nothing. So I repeat: ban ALL visitors for three to five years. THEN open with a fee of 5 to 10 euros.

Personally, I'll go with curtain #3.

They obviously didn't know either James Bond OR Peter Wimsey, BOTH of whom could have immediately identified those wines. And their years.

Yes, and it seems like they were using it to develop new story lines at the end of the final season but didn't continue.

Warning: the so-called Proto molecule is really just the MacGuffin of the series. It serves as a useful plot point but frequently doesn’t make much sense. What is far more entertaining is the vision of a future society that inhabits the planets, but no faster than light nonsense or ray guns.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm assuming (from the second film) that there is a connection to Alita Battle Angel.

They should just close off the area for three years so that the fanaticism dies down.

I am very sorry to hear this. I knew Tim and he was a very nice guy and good company for dinner as well as a fine scholar, someone I looked forward to seeing at papyrological gatherings over the years.

Someone the other day said that Trump needed to be Truman Showed so that real people could govern the country. This may be part of that. "Give him a name next to Kennedy to keep the 12 year old happy."

Emerson may be right but it has Long been Republican – friendly. Other good polls show much worse news for Republicans.

Great movies are not necessarily movies you need to rewatch. Clockwork Orange was a great movie but is responsible for a misreading of Burgess' novel, whose use of language was clever and whose original ending sent a different message.

This was group-written, of course. The style is a dead giveaway that she (or her consultants in the administration) is writing for an audience of one.

And it’s coming to my state.

Isaac Asimov (who knew a thing or two about murder mysteries) once wrote an essay on how and how not to write a sci fi murder mystery. Worth looking up.
