Artist, gay bear, halloweenie.
With Obergerfell on the chopping block, it's getting very personal. Over the past few years, I have stood by my husband through diabetic complications, a brain condition, dementia, and three brain surgeries. This is what marriage is about...commitment. But they can strip away our rights? 😥

Not feeling celebratory, so here's a #mothman sketch instead!

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

Happy Pride, friends and folx! #SantaMonica is by far the most chill Los Angeles County #pride event.

Dadvice: Car wouldn't start. Dash didn't light up, so I was 90% sure it was a dead battery. Called AAA and they had a service rep out in 20 minutes. Swapping the battery was quick, and there was no additional cost for installation.

Dad says, get AAA. It's worth it when you need it most.

Visited Horror Vibes Coffee in the North Hollywood Arts District. Beautiful murals, a novel menu, and a rad atmosphere. Will definitely return when I need to practice some "self-scare."

"Tied Up in Knott's" at the Boysenberry Festival is also a delight. Here are some standout pieces from the art show.

Knott's Boysenberry Festival 2025 is a delight as always. Many delicious food options, requiring multiple trips.

We tried the Birria Sliders and Sloppy Joe Burger. Birria was exceptional with a slightly sweet flavoring and an umame consummé. Burger was solid but messy.

Perfect Spooky Weekend -

Saturday: Shopping at "LankerScream" in NoHo and the closing of Dark Delicacies book store in Burbank

Sunday: Back to Burbank for "Terror Market" in the Blast from the Past parking lot.

Terror Market had better shopping, but LankerScream had screenings and aircon.

We already have comic book level Villains. Maybe we'll have real life superheroes to combat them.

(Honestly, though, it'll really take us all doing our part. We have to save ourselves.)

I'm grateful to have art. It's offers mindfulness, personal development, and focused observation. Here's a little #watercolor sketch.

October Village organized a rad spooky market event with "Tavern of Terror" for "Valloween." An excellent selection of merchants, fun photo op, and exposure for Villains Brewery in Anaheim, which I'll have to return to try. They do regular events in SoCal/OC.

I've been thinking about mantras to aid in mindful centering during these tumultuous times. I propose this:

I will protect my peace.
I will find joy.
I will choose kindness.

ICE went to the home of a 61-year-old man with poor health and after his family informed ICE agents that they needed a warrant signed by a judge, dozens of ICE agents instead showed up in an armored vehicle with a battering ram and flash grenades and took him by force.

The in-progress coup attempt of this country is overwhelming and somehow still surprising. Not that it's happening, but that it's so transparent and brazen.

I wish I had a clearer sense of how to combat it as a regular citizen.
