My two-year-old’s grocery store offers food polar bears (made of raisins) for five many. The trouble is they don’t offer California raisins, but rather only raisin raisins from the doctor and those raisins cannot play any instruments.

Obviously a fascist regime trying to consolidate power with, in part, public voilence against opposing party electeds will attempt to reframe those situations as a response to unpatriotic agitation by the victim. A media that doesn’t actively push against that framing will help the fascists.

I think the knee jerk normalizing press wants to definitively say, "Trump rules out third term" much more than he himself wants to say it. Even in the exchange the flurry of pieces are hanging on, he tosses in enough hems and haws so as to not depress "Trump 2028" hat sales.
