Hammering this out quick, since I hadn't labeled the map in the first post (which was just ME-01 vs ME-02). Here is a breakdown of how ME-02 voted on Question 2. No visual legend, but blue is a strong net positive for "YES"; yellow is a strong net negative for "NO" on a gradiated scale.

How about other national races? Not super clear! Lots of majority votes for Republican candidates (some who ultimately won, others who didn't). But then of course there's King who consistently wins.

Q2 of course isn't a clear democrat/republican issue, but it certainly seems like it could be an indicator. Remember, ME-02 is a rural (read: gun friendly) area. So how does Q2 stack against the ME-02 voting record with Golden? Q2 outperformed him.

Time for some #Maine #politics and #election #data! I was having a really hard time finding a breakdown of how ME-02 voted on the referendum questions, especially given the retirement of Jared Golden. I couldn't find this, so I ran the numbers myself in QGIS & Excel. Short 🧵

Welp, I'm a little sad, but I'd rather my money go elsewhere.
