How great was Molitor that World Series?

To ensure he was in the lineup, Cito Gaston benched John Olerud for him one game when there was no DH. Olerud led the AL in AVG (.363), OBP (.473), OPS (1.072) & doubles (54).

Molitor went 3-for-4, 3 R, 3 RBI that night.

A Milwaukee Brewers' Legend Led The Toronto Blue Jays To Their Last World Series Title
Milwaukee Brewers fans have never seen their team win a World Series, but one of the franchise's all-time greats got a ring, and maybe gave some joy to the Brew Crew faithful.

One could argue this was the closest us #Brewers fans have been to celebrating a World Series title outside of '82. It's not the same as your team winning, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

I felt like I was going crazy, hearing almost no one bringing up the #Brewers approach last night. Yes, Snell pitched very well...but the hitters were just as responsible for his dominating night.

They must be willing to adjust going forward.

William Contreras, Jackson Chourio Couldn't Adjust Fast Enough Against Blake Snell in Game 1
They say baseball is a game of adjustments. In Game 1 of the NLCS, the Brewers offense showed what happens when you fail to adjust.

5 Key Questions for Milwaukee Brewers Ahead of NLDS Game 5
One would hope there are more answers than questions when your team reaches a win-or-go-home postseason game. Unfortunately, for the Brewers, their failure to close out the Cubs has raised a few tough...

The Cubs are confident in Boyd's home stats this season. Well...those can be deceiving. Recent evidence says it's the #Brewers who should be licking their chops tonight!

Brewers Hitters Should Feel Confident Facing Second-Half Matthew Boyd, Even at Wrigley Field
Many people point to Matthew Boyd's stats at home this season as cause for concern for the Brewers in Game 4. However, everything after July tells a different story.

Murphy has done a nice job managing the bullpen usage for the #Brewers in the playoffs. But on the offensive side, a couple of key decisions were costly - one of them an obvious whiff.

A pair of key decisions by Pat Murphy Wednesday—one obvious and one questionable—failed to put the Brewers in position to steal Game 3 and sweep the series.

Winning 12 straight games is awe-inspiring, even for opponents. The Rangers' PBP man at the time spoke about his memories from the #Brewers 12th win in '87:

"Even though it was against my team... I did soak in the spectacle and was happy for Milwaukee."

The Reds must be stunned. Much like @scorebook_bob was in '87 when the #Brewers first won 12 games in a row.

Bob was the Rangers' broadcaster then, and he shared his memories from that streak:

"We were stunned. It was a sight to behold."

With the #Brewers on a 12-game win streak, I was curious how an opponent felt watching the Crew's first ever 12-gamer in 1987:

When you actually stop to think about the fact the #Brewers have an 11-game win streak & an active 12-game win streak...within SIX weeks of each other...it's rather mind blowing.

The #Brewers first run of the game today exemplifies how their offense has been so productive.

- Siegler takes 2B on a bobble by the outfielder
- Ortiz a grounder to the right side to move him to 3B
- Frelick RBI single through the drawn-in infield

The #Brewers are using the long ball tonight - not usually their weapon of choice. They just do most other things really well like sac flies, hitting with RISP & 4+ runs in an inning.

They've done all those well, too, tonight.

No one likely cares, but right now my #Brewers lineup vs. RHP:

Turang 2B
Yelich LF
Hoskins DH
Bauers 1B
Contreras C
Chourio RF
Frelick CF
Ortiz SS
Durbin 3B

Combo of overall stats, recent production & RHP splits. And if order doesn't matter, then this hurts nothing.

Jackson Chourio is ridiculous! Vapor trail. #Brewers

Brice Turang! Power hitting 2B...apparently. #Brewers

I know the #Brewers are banged up on the pitching side, but in their quest to keep depth, they often keep up guys who end up doing a lot of damage...before going to the better arms.

Feels the same this year with high potential arms in the minors as we have Rodriguez & Thomas.
April 6, 2025 at 12:57 AM
Nice to see the #Brewers battle their way back into the game.

Hoskins not getting Frelick in with 1 out while the Reds were reeling feels like it could end up costly, but at least it is a game again.
April 6, 2025 at 12:35 AM
Soooooo...a 1-2-3 3rd inning mixing in his breaking ball quite a bit.

Then 1st hitter in 4th inning...3 fastballs & a cutter leads to another HR. Make it make sense! #Brewers
April 6, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Crazier than the #Brewers being 4-4 after an 0-4 start is the fact they even have 4 wins with these offensive numbers...

Yelich: .475 OPS
Contreras: .316 OPS
Hoskins: .518 OPS

You MIGHT need more from your typical 2-3-4 in the lineup. Big things coming...eventually?
April 5, 2025 at 2:52 AM
So glad no one gave up on the #Brewers after... (checks math)...

0.025% of the season. Now 8 whole games in and they are .500 again. Like the first 4 games never happened.
April 5, 2025 at 2:40 AM
So...

- Just terrible scouting reports from the #Brewers coaching staff?

- Brutal execution by nearly every pitcher?

- A nightmare combination of both?

It stinks extra because it is opening weekend, but this has the feel of "one of those series."

- The wind HRs & Judge's off the base double in Game 1
- The bed crapping by Cortes & others in Game 2
- The #Brewers continuing to throw many fastballs & the poor strikezone in Game 3
