“[US Senators] come to me and say this: ‘We’re giving you all the support to achieve victory’,” Netanyahu said in a video message. “‘But there’s one thing we cannot accept. We cannot handle images of starvation.’”

'Images of starvation" - no Bibi , bad optics

Beyond disgusting

The #Brexit delusions continue.

Rachel Reeves: "Britain now is the place to put investment and do business, because we’ve got preferential deals with the biggest economies"

Or - here's just a stray thought - you could do invest/ do business with a country actually INSIDE the EU...

Apopos of Dutton's vow of silence - I am left wondering - how much of it did he actually believe?

Why did the hospital staff have to comply?

Imagine if one or two strong people simply said "No, we are not going along with this, we wil just call him to let him know you're here and ask him to come up"

It's so very very hard to stand up to this stuff.

in this article McGuiness mentions "pivot points" eg-Tampa; Hewsons birthday cake- which lost oppositions the election

The whole article fails to mention the huge pivot point this time: Dutton's mini-me Trump act followed by Trump's rampage in the USA

Scott Morrison took the ‘goat track’ to victory. There’s still time for Dutton to do the same
It’s not yet time to pack away the corflutes. Campaigns can pivot very quickly.

Watching the brilliant "Say Nothing" for the first time, then came across this pitiful review

"However, it feels overly sympathetic to its main characters"

It's Delours' story for God's sake!

Have not yet finished it but so far would rate it 4-4.5 / 5.

Say Nothing review – a compelling but fatally flawed account of the Troubles
This gripping adaptation of Patrick Radden Keefe’s bestselling book tells the shocking story of the IRA’s Price sisters, but makes little attempt to hide its sympathies

I hope the RACS, AHPRA and the Epworth act quickly to investigate and determine a response that demonstrates a true commitment to protecting women

Righwing thuggery.
From a highly educated man cosplaying a working class one.

And then... "it was only a joke"

We've seen it all before.

Let's see if in Australia 2025 actions like this have consequences.

Ezra Klein ( @ezrakleinbot.bsky.social ) is not prone to sensationalism. It is pretty sobering that he would put out a short podcast like this.

Memo to Dutton

Penny Wong is one of the most respected politicians in Australia

If you want to go out there saying she has failed because the Indonesians are considering a Russian airbase in W Papua...

...well you'd better be sure it's true.

You don't seem like a safe pair of hands

2/4. The entire practice of the Holocaust of the Jews involved zones of statelessness. It is easier to move people away from law than it is to remove law from people. Almost all of the killing took place in artificially created stateless zones.

My hot take.
Trump reversed course on tariffs.
US stocks recovered, US bonds did not
So that means that he has made US dollar debt less attractive than it used to be, regardless of the details of the current policy.
