Doomer, born at 320 ppm with population at 3.3 billion, It’s the Overshoot, stupid. Humanity may be doomed, but we don’t need to lose our humanity.
The Paris Agreement was just another neoliberal scam to preserve the status quo.

This was an episode of the Twilight Zone. AI is going to cook us by speeding up global warming.

Yay! We don’t appreciate unions as much as we should. Unfortunately, people easily fall for the neoliberal propaganda against unions.

Such a fraud. I know I’m biased because I‘m an atheist, but being an evangelical climate scientist whose is married to an uber evangelist community leader is a dealbreaker for me. The evangelicals started and pushed the positivity/faith movement in the U.S. We can’t manifest our collapse away.

Wow! Aren’t the leaves supposed to have fallen already and summer clothes put away.

Maybe it’s getting ready for bikini season since it’s happening way longer and more often now.

She smiles way too much for me. I don’t believe collapse is supposed to be joyous. Maybe an expression of concern once in a while.

But ocean absorption of carbon will save us ONCE WE STOP USING FOSSIL FUELS! I’m so tired of the cheerleading from the naive climate analyzers.

I predict the title of Bill Gates new book, “How to Normalize Climate Change through What-about-ism.” What about disease and hunger? We should now pivot to pretend to care about these instead of climate change.

Another paper to make the same points that have been made so many times. The author references the 3.5% Chenoweth rule needed for social change and disruption of the status quo. That number‘s been thrown around a lot. It’s for opposing authoritarian governments, not what’s causing global collapse.

No. The new plan will not work. Bond markets are not coming to the rescue of the rainforests.

“Bill Gates said too many resources are going toward climate change instead of issues like welfare and poverty.” We‘re not solving the poverty or climate crisis, but we are creating many more crises due to the use of AI.

Guterres has been making urgent warnings about the need to change immediately for many years now. Those in power either ignored him, gamed the public, or implemented inadequate measures. How is this warning going to be different? We still how the same power structures only they’re getting worse.

I would like to see less cleverness (the signs were very clever) and more actionable steps that lead to real change.

How anyone can believe that weak, insincere, and directionless politicians can beat no-holds-barred fascist political thugs? This isn’t about a big tent or purity tests. This is about fighting to give the people power and not being beholden to the rich and powerful in a different way.

Progressive policies are unpopular. To the donor class to whom the establishment Democrats are beholden.

This quote about sums it up.

“Of the various causes of collapse, the one most overlooked, and potentially the most harmful, is delusion – the capacity of humans to believe whatever they wish, regardless of the facts. A species that does not believe it is in danger is very unlikely to avoid it.”
