It's actually less than 1% regret rate for Trans people. Also worth noting that regret is rarely the reason that people detransition. Pressure from family, employment barriers and discrimination account for about 95% of detransition cases.

I've heard many Christians argue that my homosexuality is a test and that I must reject the "sin" to pass god's test. Honest question: What if the test is actually to live my truth, as god made me? Ya'll believe god is infallible, so therefore my homosexuality must be their will. Right?

I'm at peace with who I am and who I love. I'm sorry you live in fear of your god's judgement, but projecting that onto others just makes you small and is an affront to what I learned about god in my short time in the church. If you were so righteous, you wouldn't have to resort to this.

Back when I believed the DNC was actually progressive, I mistakingly viewed AOC as too radical to have mass appeal. At this inflection point in history, I now understand her clear and unapologetic messaging represents the best path forward for real democracy in America.

I'm staying optimistic, for now. It will all come down to who replaces him. We may not have term limits, but PM's who stay in office for a few terms historically push the country to the other side of the aisle. His resignation now gave the LPC a fighting chance, if they don't shit the bed.

Nah, this has been a long time coming. We don't have term limits in Canada, but our federal and provincial leaders have historically had shelf lives. If he had stayed through the election, the result would surely be a hard swing right. His resignation just gave the Liberals a fighting chance.

“We can handle a government shutdown” is a hell of a privileged take on this. Fact is, Democrats stopped a shutdown mere days before Christmas, and have not conceded anything. This is a win, period.

That's the sentiment amongst pretty much everyone I know. We'll continue to support the LPC as long as the alternative is a hot, steaming pile of garbage, but also ready for JT to move on and for the next gen of liberal leaders to step up.

Was it also disinformation and propaganda that made them echo the dehumanizing, vile rhetoric about progressives that they were being fed? That speaks to their character more than their intelligence, and for that they don't deserve grace. Empathy and eventually forgiveness, maybe, but not grace.

You're correct that there are no prerequisite qualifications, but don't you think there should be? At the bare minimum, experience in state or federal government should be a requirement.
