I have bad news, you are very close to being correct. Ultimately, he just wants to avoid prison, the narcissist in him is willing to become dictator to achieve that, but it is doomed to failure without a worldwide fascist movement.

What he actually did was ensure that every nominated Republican was a Trump loyalist.
