Totally get that. It’s the people who close the blinds on the north side of the plane at 5:00 pm when flying over Greenland for the first time in my life. Like, “why?”

It’s been this way for as long as I’ve lived here. Farmers & ranchers soak in subsidies, dirt cheap leases of fed/state land, benefit from massive infrastructure (highways, dams, cheap power, etc.), pay immigrants next to nothing, then vote to screw everyone else.

Ha! Fortunately, all these peeps have been in the NW for a long time. But true: the highest point in the county I grew up in was a nearly imperceptible rise on a country road surrounded by corn and soybean fields…
