It’s nice to see deep red citizens voicing opposition, but hard not to view it as other than self interest when you get quotes like this one, from the NE farmer who’s a-okay with everyone else losing jobs and services, as long as he’s subsidized in the end.

Releasing water from the Lucky Peak Reservoir into the Boise River, just below the dam in SE Boise. Encountered on a late afternoon ride.

Phone grab of the Idaho Capitol This morning. A beautiful building that deserves so much better than the idiocy and nonsense produced there in modern times.

Sometimes she just sits there and stares at me. With. That. Face.

Snow day, front window view, made to look as nostalgic as I’ve been feeling as of late.

She’s travelled across deserts (by car), is allegedly a virgin, and has claimed every room (and blanket) at our inn as if it had all been foretold.

It’s beyond outrageous, yet still being normalized. An onslaught too fast and furious for our largely corporate media to process and handle, and very much by design.

Well, no snow, but we do have this mountain/valley inversion frost which is kind of magical if you make yourself believe it.

A once promising career (believe it or not) reduced to a marionette, national security be damned. Possibly the saddest and lamest position statement ever issued by a U.S. senator.

Daphne will always find the most comfortable spot, even if it’s between the legs. Doesn’t seem to mind feet at all. Tell her she’s wrong.

Picked these up today at my local independent bookstore (Rediscovered Books in Boise). It’s a no Amazon, buy local, try-not-to-support-billionaires kind of Christmas for me this year, and hopefully every year going forward.

Not just online. It’s happening on high school and college campuses. Dads: teach your sons not only to be better but how to stand up this crap. Women: report it. Schools: treat it like the serious threat it is.

I wrote this 8 years ago, but it could have been yesterday.

There was a hard freeze last night and I’m just staring out the window watching the big yellow maple in my front yard drop its leaves all at once. By the end of the day it will seem like winter, and I can’t think of a more perfect metaphor.
