The hard lesson I learned this Christmas is not to order from any company that uses 3rd party delivery services like 17track or p2p - BOTH cannot find my house simply because it's in a slightly rural location. USPS and Amazon never have a problem. TeePublic and Shawn Craft both use them so BEWARE!

I gotta say, I've learned about so much music over the last 17 years or so of being a SiriusXM subscriber. Now playing their 1st Wave Deep Cuts channel, and it's great. And I still got 2 episodes of "Dark Wave" to catch up on. When Howard quits it's gonna be hard for me to ever cancel.

My biggest songwriting influences are John Frusciante and Syd Barrett. Beyond those primary two are many others. But they will always be the most important in anything I do.

The new NiN Tron soundtrack is disappointing. With a couple of exceptions it's really no different than any of Trent and Atticus' soundtrack works. It was a mistake to make it a NiN album.

All of Britt Daniel's demos for the last 25 years if not more RULE. @spoontheband.bsky.social know it cause they've been putting them out as extras for a very long time now in various reissues and online, etc

I hope all things Disney suffer greatly as a result of suspending Kimmel. I hate Disney anyway, every company they're ever involved with they ruin. ABC was kinda an edgy network in the mid 90s before Disney got involved. I hate all things family friendly anyway but Disney is the worst.

Erasure are a far more psychedelic group than I think they're given credit for. I think they're aware of it though - just watch any videos from Chorus or I Say... for proof.

@endofanear.com don't know if you guys did it or the shop pay app, but not really feeling the new 2 payments deal. Four was way better, and was easier to use to buy records from the store. Two payments makes it more difficult.

It's the coolest stuff I've heard in a while... You can get a full band signed CD from Barrett's website for 25 bucks. I'm waiting on mine atm

I've really come to love the 2 disc reissue of Spoon's They Want My Soul album. The demos are numerous and a revelation. Highly recommend - and the album itself is among my favs of theirs anyway.

I ordered 5 Peter Hammill solo albums over the last 24 hours, which means I will soon own his entire 1970s solo discography. He's easily one of my fav songwriters, and a profound influence on my own stuff.

I wanna shout out Samaritan's Purse for the amazing and wonderfully generous help they have provided me since the flood in Texas on July 4th. FEMA and the Red Cross turned me down, but they didn't. Highly recommend this great Christian charity relief group.

@vincemancini.bsky.social it should be noted also perhaps that while the show has suffered, Howard himself is still very sharp and quick witted, with a number of interesting things to say still. I have no doubt he will succeed in another format should he choose to. But not the show as we know it.
