Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is a really cool take on Space Invaders where the gimmick is the game "evolves" as you get further in so it gradually turns into a shmup as you progress. I'm not sure how you'd go about playing it in 2025 but there's a sequel coming soon apparently

i like how in ds 1 and 2 her theme is goofy cartoon music with cats meowing but then in vampire saviour she gets this slightly foreboding synth guitar track with radio tuning noises mixed in. the duality of it....

apparently nobody has any idea where the art in the thumbnail came from? its not official album art and there aren't any results when you do a reverse google image search, and the upload's from 2018 so it can't be AI. mysteries abound in this world....

FRANKENSTEIN (2025 dir. guillermo del toro, usa) some incredible gothic visuals & good performances but i don't feel like there was much substance that wasn't already in the book. could have done with an act 3 that was just the monster stalking victor and occasionally tearing an extremity off.

i'm imagining a single unanimous worldwide "wooaoOOAHH" followed by the revelation that 80% of the world is dead and laughing

SARABAND FOR DEAD LOVERS (1948 dir. basil dearden, uk) was honestly pretty unmoved by the story (i dont care for movies abt the conflicting duties of european monarchs) but holy SHIT the cinematography and set design are gorgeous. hard to believe this was the studio's first ever colour film.

LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (1962 dir. david lean, uk/usa) spellbindingly vast in scope even today and gripping throughout its crazy long runtime. already want to watch it again on the basis that i missed like 10 minutes making dinner. consensus was totally right.
