My book club just read the Shining and as soon as it mentions the pressure creep in the boiler, you know how it's going to have to end. We called it Chekov's Boiler

Mine is a Del Toro as well. My immediate thought at the end of Nightmare Alley was that it was the best movie I will never watch again.

It took me a little work to find it. There should be a link that says "past issues". In my browser it was at the top right, next to the subscribe button. Part 7 is linked from there

I don't know how universal it is, but in my city there's a locksmith who sharpens that kind of thing. It's also not too hard to learn, but you probably want to practice on a pocket knife to get the hang of it

I'm glad you're enjoying it, it's so good! But if you'd just wanted the astronaut-spy part, I didn't want to assign 2 books of build-up. I hate recommending media-with-homework. It's a strength of the series that you can jump in at any point and not be lost.

The nice thing about it is that you don't have to! I think reading them in order provides more context, but each book walks on its own.
