One of my professors was one the creators of these. Based on the fact that people were many times more likely to pay a credit card bill rather than a medical bill. One being more frowned upon to ignore than the other.

This is an aside - but in so many ways, only a healthy (disease free b/c of vaccines) society allows for this kind of reckless behavior. It is like a stored wealth that anti-vaxxers get to exploit only because it exists. In short - it’s a type of the socialism they rail against.

Dear god, please don’t win it with the goal of “restoring decorum”. We’ll have plenty of time for that AFTER we utterly neutralize (let alone dismantle) the RW machine. We must be as - if not more - ruthless and cunning than they have been.

There is a distinct feeling in the pit of my stomach when I join a group solving a problem and realize no one is curious. Everyone is too self concerned to explore, and be wrong 867 times so we can be right - like really, really right - on try 868. Personally, there is nothing I enjoy more.

Hardly even tangential - I mean I almost pity her for the lack of awareness that presumes relevance in today’s world - but I’ve taken the phrase “uncredentialed organic intellectualism” from your post and am savoring it like some divinely epicurean morsel. Anyway, back to the void that is RW thought

You’d hate it. You know you would. Not the bank part, but the contrived value BS would kill you. I’m guessing. Don’t know yet, just uploaded all your posts to ChatGPT. I’ll let you know what it says.

The best illustration I heard of this was that period film pieces are never about the period they take place in.
