Rewatched the Titanic, this time in all its 4K UHD glory. Watched the movie 3 times in 1997-1998 in the cinemas, and it still holds up so well. The last major movie that did not rely too much in CGI.

I had a go at the Lemmon comet last week outside London with the Canon R6 and 400mm lens. Very challenging as it's close to the light-polluted horizon. About 1.5h of data.

A long term consequence of brexit: most UK universities will be running a deficit next year, as fewer foreign students attend.

I finally captured an Andromeda pic I am happy with. 5h of data with the Canon R6 and the 400mm lens.

Reading Marcus Haern's 'The Cinema of George Lucas' is so much better look into the making of star wars than any wikipedia article. Turns out spreading out information as a story works miracles.

I've noticed that the iPhone Air, with the Apple cell modem, is way more aggressive in staying in 4G data rather than pushing to 5G.

On the upside, the lighter iPhone Air feels amazing to handle. On the downside, upgrading from a 14 Pro, a 3 year old device, felt underwhelming. Screen, speed and layout are all too similar. Asymptotic progress.

The iPhone Air has the perfect tradeoffs for me, primarily because I usually carry my Canon camera when going in interesting places, rarely using anything beyond the 1x lens on the phones. I guess the single speaker is the next tradeoff, for which I do not care about.

My take at the Milky way (Cygnus region) from last July in the greek Pindus mountains.

Canon R6, Samyang 14mm f2.8 for about 1h exposure.
