Environment Canada has updated its winter weather warning system to be easier for Canadians to understand. There' info out there about what they are actually doing, but I assume it lines up with:
-It's Canada in winter, what did you expect?
-Might be a bit slippy.
Or
-FFS just stay home, bud!

DOGE was as it appeared to many at the time, the smash portion of a series of smash and grab crimes. The largest in human history. The most collateral damage in human history.

Trailmix is fantastic when you are out hiking. The carbs, bit of protein.

Unfortunately, someone needs to make a "sitting on your ass mix" bit more protein, way less sugar/carbs.

Not saying I need it of course, just saying, some people, somewhere, probably need that.

I hate to go there, but I don't think the 'Transparency" bill passed today is likely to lead where people are hoping.
Anything not declared part of an ongoing investigation will be classified. Trump is NOT putting Trump in peril. Trump is NOT going to lose any leverage the information might give.

Epstein was foremost an "influence peddler."
His real clientele were governments, certain individuals and organizations (foreign and domestic). Kompromat as a commodity.
He traded it, manufactured it, probably made it go away for a fee.
The DAMAGE spread to the US public. You deserve answers.

No one spoke out when Trump made that wildly petty and inappropriate comment to a reporter on AF1, not one person. Not even a "Sir, that's not funny."
Fuck you.
No, really, fuck all you.
At least have enough character to mumble discontentedly to power.
JFC, obviously he is just a symptom

If you are over the age of 40 you have a clear definition of things that are and are not presidential.
If you are under the age of 40 that list is radically different.
If you are under the age of 20, it might be inverted.

Not the kind of "divided" people normally talk about, but there it is.

It's not just that Trump is surrounded by "yes men"

It's that Trump is surrounded by "oh my god, oh yes! Oh god YES! OHHHHHH YESSSSSSS!"
people.

How would I know, but I have long had the idea that the US and several other "western" nations used the leverage and byproducts of the Jeffrey Epsteins of the world to achieve "things." Many of those things probably felt like national security priorities. It's time to 'walk away from Omelas'

Not going to lie, some of them sum-bitches should just keep on staying silent.
I hope my facial expressions don't give me away.

If you are bored and want a laugh try a version of this Ai experiment. Go to "Llama Ai" and cue up an older model Ai (a Deepseek for example) ask it to evaluate the events around DOGE and their data operations, do some back and forth then get it to summarize. Feed that summary into Claude or gpt

There's a likelihood that each of the capitulation caucus received a personal benefit from their vote. Who's going to investigate, DOJ? 😅🤣😂
It doesn't make strategic sense, or political sense. It is what compromised insiders would do.

I'm torn between the belief that this administration is actively pursuing a eugenics agenda that includes starving or otherwise allowing millions of "undesirables" to die, OR they're setting up the conditions for a "Running Man" inspired 'Bakersfield food riot' scenario. Either way...

That panicked "let me out of here!" look on RFK's face?
Yeah, that's the extent of the response you are going to see when reality begins to catch up with this "administration."

Saturday thoughts:
The cat universe abhors a vacuum.
And.
We Gen Xers are clearly to blame for many ills of these times, we allowed people to tell us "that is a red onion." We told our children: that is a red onion. We order red onions.
The f@#king onion is purple, it's always been purple.
