I’m looking forward to joining @josholds.bsky.social as we spend a Year on the Mountaintop working through Jesus’s teachings in Matthew called The Sermon on the Mount. Follow him to join us!
In just over one month, I'll be releasing Year on the Mountaintop - a 52-week journey through the progressive, inclusive message of Jesus as revealed in the Sermon on the Mount. This is a COMPLETELY FREE social media experience that you'll be able to take part in wherever you commune online.

One of the first requests from our teen upon bringing home a puppy this past summer was a skeleton hoodie so they could be Halloween twins! I’m not sure the dog’s impressed.

What a concise summary of our current climate and the primary themes of @johnfugelsang.bsky.social ‘s book!
The top three things Jesus was on about were feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and welcoming the stranger. Rich men have convinced so-called Christians to starve the hungry, gut health care, and deport the stranger to enrich themselves. It’s astoundingly anti-Christ.

Recently discovered “Legends of the North Cascades” by Jonathan Evison at my local library. Weaving a story that blends the lives of ancient ice age humans with modern day inhabitants of a wilderness cave, this book explores tragedy and a willingness to survive. #BookSky

Republicans would rather shut down the government than help millions of Americans afford health care. This article tells some of their stories, and is a good reminder of what’s at stake.
These people have found their health care at the center of a shutdown showdown
Small business owners, self-employed people and early retirees are among the 24 million Americans who could lose the tax credit

I love the messaging I’m hearing from young Democrats. Love your neighbors - all of them. Texas, this is an exciting counterbalance to other messaging we are hearing from your state!
I’m running for the U.S. Senate.

Billionaires have taken over Texas and taken over America — but together, we can take power back for working people.

Leaning this way… my honest first reaction was, “I’m not glad it happened this way, but I am glad that voice is no longer speaking.” historycanthide.substack.com/p/thousands-...
Thousands of Gen Z’ers Don't "Feel Bad" About Charlie Kirk's Murder. Here’s Why.
The online reaction to Charlie Kirk's assassination reveals a generational (and partisan) disconnect on issues of gun violence, systemic injustice, and the nature of political hatred.

Love this! Thanks @governorferguson.bsky.social for working to protect our health!
Governor Newsom @governor.ca.gov, Governor Kotek, and I launched a new West Coast Health Alliance today to ensure residents remain protected by science, not politics.

The Trump Administration has undermined the independence of the CDC and dismantled its vaccine panel.

“From what I’ve seen, America needs a hillbilly rhapsody (enthusiasm for a vision of the good life) to celebrate the vision of poor white people who are refusing the old myths of division to join hands with the people they’ve been pitted against and reconstruct America.” Rev. William J. Barber, Jr.

William J Barber II wrote in his book “White Poverty”: “My prayer since 2016 has been that all of the movements that have risen up in response to injustice in America would flow together into something larger than any of us could plan or imagine. If people fighting for a living wage could link up…1/

Had the pleasure of watching Massy Ferguson band close out the West Seattle Street Festival yesterday! It was a great show (so hot!) and made even better when I got to briefly catch up with Ethan (pictured) afterward! We went to school together in the 90s!

The View from the Ditch is such a different perspective than the self-righteous stance of those claiming the role of Good Samaritan. When I need help, do I really care who gives it? So good! @dianabutlerbass.bsky.social

“Screech!” came the calls of a juvenile Great Horned Owl as it moved from tree to tree around our campsite at Deception Pass State Park earlier this week. Very cool to see and hear!
