Wheel of Time was a very formative series for me growing up. I've found that the adaptation to be very enjoyable, especially since I started watching it with my friend who is likewise a long time fan. It's settings and costumes are beautiful, the actors very talented. There's the odd miss.

Matter of time before that Starlink contract magically un-rips itself.

It makes sense, their "alliance" has always been mutual self interest, but once one of them starts making moves to tilt the balance of power they've no choice but to start making their own moves. It's inherently unstable because their guiding philosophy is one of pure selfishness.

And yet the PCs get 2/3 of the seats.
I fucking hate FPTP.

Most of us didn't vote at all. Most of us who did vote voted for the PCs. Most of us who cared more about society than what we might gain personally in the short term voted Lib or NDP.

So we've got monkey pox, bird flu, another novel corona virus, measles, and antibiotic resistant bacteria all just waiting for their chance to be the next pandemic?

Any of those fucking betting apps got a pool going on this?

We allow corporations to pay less than a living wage so when their employees turn to the government for social support, it's out of our taxes again.
All while corporations are posting record profits year on year.
Neoliberalism is a scam, trickle-down economics hasn't worked in 40+ years.

If we had a program where you could pay $100 to not get the vax and attend a weekend long public health seminar then all of a sudden it's more costly in time, money, and effort to not get the shot.
Paired with a tax rebate for proof of vaccination this could drastically change the numbers.

One strategy I've thought of seems kind of paradoxical: give people the option to opt out.
Hear me out. Most anti-vaxxers aren't true believers in the sense they're not willing to actively go out of their way. Not getting the shots costs them nothing and is thus the easier option for them...

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Those who do learn from history are doomed to know it's repeating.

Feel like Cassandra up in here.
