I may have ridden in one of those gondolas as a child! What a view.

I hope the wildflowers are blooming - it’s stunning when they are. I imagine you know about the Nature Conservancy preserve. If you drive far enough up one road there’s a spectacular view into Hell’s Canyon at the Buckhorn Overlook. Saw a mountain bluebird up there!

It’s a lot of fun to see you discovering all the wonderful places around Portland. There are so many that you’ll be busy for years!

There’s abundant moss over at Smith and Bybee lakes this time of year

Many great hikes there, including one to a… lighthouse! Also some great plant nurseries. Loved seeing masses of pelicans flying over the beach this summer. Ridgefield wildlife refuge is on other side of the river and is a good day trip.
