Tiger: "I think it's been damaging my emotional stability with only small or incidental benefits. It's a menstrual hormone, so I think I've been stuck on period mode all month. Every month. We see the tiger lying in bed with tears in a bloodshot eye, covered in tendrils of despair. Tiger: "It isn't the main story I'm writing, but it's something I don't see most talking about. I've been considering sharing my experience with it." Vulture: "You absolutely should!" Vulture: "Getting hormones right isn't always straightforward. There was a six month stretch of time when I was on a birth control that gave me horrible and abnormal mental and physical side effects." The vulture is seen on a phone with a frustrated expression. Vulture: My doctor and my pharmacy wouldn't listen..." The vulture is seen reading on their computer. Vulture: "...but I went online, and I could see I wasn't alone." The tiger is shown with a gentle smile and relieved eyes. Vulture: "Your experience is worth talking about. Not everyone will have the textbook medical experience, and it's helpful to know we aren't alone.

#15YearsOfRain Picture shows "Year 15 Rain" hanging out with "Year 1 Rain." On this day, fifteen years ago, I started a silly little webcomic called Rain, about a trans girl doing her best to be herself in high school. I wasn't sure I was going to stick with it. I wasn't sure anyone but me would even care. It was the kind of story I needed but didn't have when I was growing up, but being the only trans person I knew at the time, I was admittedly expecting it wouldn't click for anyone else. I was wrong. Queer folks have told me they came out after reading it. Trans folks told me they started transition after reading it. Cis folks told me they better understood the queer and trans people in their lives after reading it. Folks of all kinds figured themselves out after reading it. And more than once, I've been told by folks that they're still here because of it. It's a lot to take in. It often feels like more praise than I deserve, considering the simplistic art, and frequently overly verbose dialogue. But it also means the world to me that it resonated so much with people. I'm so grateful that the story I needed meant so much to so many other people. It's more than I could've ever asked for. So thank you to everyone who's ever read it, and everyone who will read it someday. You're the reason I could keep at it. You're the reason I was able to finish it. You're the reason I'll be able to release the final physical volume very soon. I started this because I wanted it, but I couldn't have finished it without you! Thank you for your ongoing support. In return, I hope I can continue to help you laugh and smile and grow.

Tiger HRT - Chapter 7: Eyes Of The Tiger - Part 1

Today in: Things I wish I knew when I started my transition...
Panel 1: Narration reads, "A few days later". A phone is lying on a surface, buzzing. The display reads, "Dr. Erian is calling". Panel 2: The phone continues buzzing as a white-furred, clawed hand is reaching for it. A growl can be heard offscreen. Panel 3: Alexis, lying in bed and clinging to a shark plushie, answers the phone. "RRRrrr... Hello?" A water bottle and book are visible on the bedside table from which she grabbed the phone. Dr. Erian speaks: "Hello, Miss Alexis. I received your message and have consulted some relevant literature. Are you sitting comfortably? I have information that may distress you." Alexis answers, "Go ahead." Panel 4: Dr. Erian continues. "Research indicates that the same recessive gene responsible for leucism in Bengal tigers is also connected to a defect in the optic nerve. You are reaching the point in your treatment that humanity removal is now affecting your neural pathways, which means..." Alexis finishes his sentence. "...Which means my vision is going wrong." Dr Erian confirms, saying "I'm afraid so." Alexis protests. "Why didn't you warn me?! I read the booklet cover-to-cover a dozen times and it didn't say anything about this!!" Dr. Erian angrily retorts. "Miss Alexis, do you have any IDEA how many species I am expected to become an expert on, practically overnight?? Some of them mythological or fantastical?? Information is GOING to fall through the cracks, now and then." Alexis stares up at the ceiling, loosely holding her phone with a defeated look on her face. "Right... So what can I do?" She is visibly cross-eyed.

4 frame comic. the first frame shows a tangram swan. text reads : they call it "aI", but large language models (llm) such as chatbots are far from intelligent: they are pattern- recognition machines that churn out whatever might sound like a reply to the thing you last said. 2nd frame shows inside a data center. text reads : that distinction matters, because the technology for actual aI simply doesn't exist. the only way for llm to get better is to feed it more data, transiting in bigger polluting data centers, scavenged always deeper into our devices. 3rd frame shows a child blowing bubbles. text reads : but once the whole internet has been fed to their llm, how can these companies promise neverending growth to their shareholders? that's what makes "AI" a bubble, kept afloat by circular investments and hype. 4th frame shows a chatbot logo. text reads : llms need us to keep interacting and coming back in order to grow. they are sycophantic by design. they amplify delusions and will never disagree with you or challenge your worldview. it's ripping apart communities for a few billionaires' hubris.

Transphobes use the suicide ideation rates among trans people - that they are responsible for - to justify persecuting them more.
