Yeah, that's my sentiment as well, it's just interesting that the polymorph spell specifically notes "benefits" and doesn't just say the gear loses any magical properties/effects for the duration of the spell. It also seems focused on equipped gear, not carried inventory, which further complicates.

So, the interesting thing about this conundrum though is that it doesn't say loses ALL properties, though, or use the word inert. It says no BENEFITS, and cannot be activated/used BY the polymorphed creature.

Ah right, I get you. Hmm, I feel like the intention is for the items to become completely inert as part of the polymorphed form, but rules as written, it really depends on if we consider the portalsplosion to be a "benefit" or not in this instance. My gut is nosplosion.

The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it and deposited in a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can’t be reopened.

wotc actually has errata for this!

Placing a portable hole inside an extradimensional space created by a bag of holding, handy haversack, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane.

3.5 if you like math and having a mechanic for everything short of blowing your nose, 5e if you just want to roleplay, 4e if your favorite doctor from doctor who is pre-RTD era.

OP goes into that downthread!
Lucas had no money. His wife at the time edited the original movie (*brilliantly*). Other people directed the first three. He was hedged in by other people.

Over time, to the extent he gained more & more total control, he absolutely *crushed* that quality of suggestiveness.

I feel like treating this as a gotcha ignores the context that other warnings were added after the fact when the original concept gained traction because people remembered other content warnings exist. They are all secondary to the main, labeled function (dog death).

Yeah I was gonna say shitting on her factual presentation for not being sensitive is hitting both my sexism and ableism (re autism) buttons even if I don't know this person's neurotype.

Like the thing is that she's objectively correct. Especially with the weirdness of the "does the dog die" litmus and stuff. No one has that for even human children, let alone other pets/animals. It IS weird and specific to dog people.

How is this new science isn't this just the basics of surface area

I feel like if a trigger warning would "spoil" the story, then the story is using triggering material for cheap shock value and it doesn't have enough going on outside of that. Like that's such a red flag lol.
