As a performer, I absolutely get that. I’m saying that these dancers don’t fit the definition of “entertainer”. @strictlychristo.bsky.social has a comment above that explains the meaning behind the dollar bills in the video. It’s good evidence that the community is encouraging kiddo’s dancing.

Hi friend, a reminder that to view the dance as just a performance with the sole purpose to entertain viewers is a very colonial perspective. For many Indigenous cultures dancing is a spiritual experience with deep cultural meaning. Maybe his parents allowed it because it was entirely appropriate.
